City Hope Ministry is a non-profit Christian organization dedicated to serving the spiritual and material needs of urban people in Northern New Jersey. We are involved in many different types of outreaches throughout the year.

Hosting Missions Team From Wichita, Kansas

  • While hosting this missions team, they helped renovated cabins at the New Jersey Teen Challange center and worked on the Mighty Oaks Learning Center building.

Memorial Day Outreach

  • On memorial day, we closed down the street at Central Assembly of God for a day full of ministry. Alongside worship and testimonies, we provided our community with free clothes, hot dogs, and direct access to local social services.

Backpack Give Away

  • We partnered with In Your Hands Ministry to give out 150 backpacks to children in need at our Georgia King Village community outreach.

Festival of Life

  • We partnered with Evangelist Jonathan Shuttlesworth to hold a week-long crusade at Lincoln Park here in Newark, NJ. We saw over 2,500 people give their life to the Lord, and even one person was healed and walked out of her wheelchair! Many were prayed for and blessed through this outreach.

Easter Basket Give Away

  • We assembled over 150 Easter food baskets to give away to families in our community.

Christmas Toy Give Away

  • At the Branch Brook Park skating rink, we hosted an outreach to give away free Christmas gifts to over 200 children in our community.
  • We had free roller skating and gave out toys, bicycles, and winter coats.

Christian Sports Camp

  • We took 30 youth from Newark to a Christian Sports camp in Redhook, NY. Here kids gave their lives to the Lord, drew closer to God, and had fun!
  • Experiences in their own words:
    – “I always thought I was too dirty and sinful to be a
Christian, but now I know that Jesus meets me right where I am.”
    – “When I came to camp I didn’t believe in Jesus, but that has changed, now I believe in Him.”

Mighty Oaks Pre-School

  • Our preschool, Mighty Oaks, is at full capacity! We have just graduated another class.

Central Assembly of God Baptism

  • Six new believers got baptised at Central Assembly of God.

Global Day of Prayer

  • On the global day of prayer, we joined with our fellow churches in Newark for a day of multi-cultural celebration, worship, and prayer in Newark’s Branch Brook Park.

Stations Of The Cross March

  • Praying for souls at our annual Stations of the Cross march up a main artery of Newark, N.J. We march up South Orange Ave. in Newark, while praising the Lord, preaching to the lost, and praying for the community.

City-Wide Spiritual Engagement

  • We joined with over 60 churches, community organizations, and the city of Newark to bring the gospel and needed services to our community. During this outreach we handed out free food, gave medical screenings, and had a  job fair for those in the community

Christian Flag Raising

  • This is the fifth year we have raised the Christian Flag over Newark City Hall and have been able to pray for our city and city officials. Every year on Palm Sunday we have a praise and prayer session in front of Newark City Hall, preceding the flag raising ceremony. The Christian flag flies over our City Hall from Palm Sunday until Resurrection Sunday.

Central Assembly of God Paint and Clean

  • Members of the CAG congregation came together to paint the sanctuary, clean our kitchen, and organize the fellowship hall.

School Visits

  • Former NY Giant and two–time Super Bowl champion, Lee Rouson, ministered in 9 Newark, NJ, schools.
  • We then held a Friday night rally where young people were saved.
